September is a really busy month, with a fresh start for every teacher and pupil in our schools, especially those starting in new schools. We want to wish all our schools the very best for the year ahead. For Schools of Sanctuary, this promises to be the most exciting school year yet!

In June, the school year ended on a high, with five newly recognised schools in four counties. You can see the portfolios here. We are already working with several schools that are preparing for recognition as well as others that are just starting the journey.

With no end in sight to hostilities in Ukraine, and wars and climate disasters in many other parts of the world, the numbers seeking International Protection are higher than ever. A culture of welcome, inclusion and understanding is more needed than ever. Schools of Sanctuary have never been so important. We are really grateful to every school that joins the movement. You are shaping history!
